Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite and managed by Mozilla Corporation. To display web pages, Firefox uses the Gecko layout engine, which implements most current web standards in addition to a few features which are intended to anticipate likely additions to the standards.
Latest Firefox features include tabbed browsing, a spell checker, incremental find, live bookmarking, a download manager, private browsing, location-aware browsing (aka “geolocation”) based exclusively on a Google service and an integrated search system that uses Google by default in most localizations. X-Firefox in your native language
Before starting X-Firefox, please download your preferred localized version of Mozilla Firefox from mozilla.org and move it to \Lib\Mozilla\Firefox\setup_en\ directory, deleting or overwriting the preexisting one. Then execute X-Firefox.exe to start X-Firefox in your native language.

X-Firefox is a portable version of Mozilla Firefox® (registered trademark of the Mozilla Foundation) created by winPenPack.com using the unchanged official binary downloaded from Mozilla.org, in agreement with the “Mozilla Trademark Policy”. X-Firefox contains Mozilla Firefox in its unmodified setup form into the \Lib\Mozilla\Firefox\setup_en\ directory. At first run, automatically and in “silent” mode, will be executed the setup, extracting and moving all program files into the initially empty \Bin folder, and preparing the correct .ini file. At the end of installation, the setup file will be removed from \Lib folder.
For this reason, X-Firefox will have to be installed (or updated) through one of following procedures.
N.B. In any case, be sure that, during installation, your own copy of X-Firefox is NOT RUNNING.
- Automatic install (for winPenPack suites users only)From winPenPack menu Launcher main window (opening from menu, selecting first bold option from top, “Main window”), search X-Firefox item, right click on it and select “Install X-Software…” option from contextual menu. Insert full path of last downloaded X-Firefox ZIP file, then wait until installation is completed (during this phase, a “silent” X-Firefox installation into \Bin folder is performed; it will need some minutes for complete).
- Manual install (for all mozilla standalone programs and winPenPack expert users)Unpack downloaded X-Firefox ZIP file into a temporary folder (i.e. C:\FF_TEMP)
Run the program, double clicking C:\FF_TEMP\X-Firefox.exe
When X-Firefox main window will appear, it means that “pseudo-installation” phase is completed. Close X-Firefox window.
Copy/move “C:\FF_TEMP\Bin\Firefox” folder contents (i.e. the new version) into “\Bin\Firefox” (i.e. the old version). This allow to keep unchanged the user profile (under “\User\Firefox”) eventually existant.
Copy/move “X-Firefox.exe” and “X-Firefox.ini” files overwriting the previous ones.
